Piedmont Land Design, PLLC is a site design firm providing civil engineering, landscape architecture, and land planning services.

PLD offers a wide range of design services focusing on the needs of the private development sector. Our expertise allows the client the opportunity to work with one group for all of their development design needs from conception, through plan preparation, permit approval and construction administration.

CIVIL ENGINEER

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited College/University

* NC Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) on track to obtain PE within one year

* 5 to 10 years of experience specifically related to private development site design preferably in the Piedmont region

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Ability to work directly with clients, regulators, municipalities, and other local and state agencies to develop and present site plans

* Familiar with local design regulations and processes

Responsibilities

* Project management from conception to final construction

* Design storm water systems from conceptual planning through construction document phases utilizing AutoCAD

* Prepare design calculations (water, sewer and storm drainage hydraulic modeling, SCM’s, erosion control, etc. and prepare report figures and exhibits

* Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations and other engineering documents

* Perform limited construction inspections for compliance with plans

* Prepare, submit and track required site permits

* Prepare appropriate certifications of construction as required

* Generate correspondence, attend meetings and serve as a point of contact for clients, review agencies, contractors, and design team members

* Knowledge of current codes and regulatory standards

* Ability to operate various specialized software and office equipment, such as, large format plotters, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Hydraflow, and Microsoft/Excel

* Maintain and update records and various files related to projects

* Provide a positive and creative attitude in the office with co-workers and clients, and assist in mentoring

SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Qualifications

* Professional registration & license as a Landscape Architect with the state of North Carolina

* Minimum 10 years experience designing private sector projects

* Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines and ability to adjust to project priorities and demands of multiple clients

* Experience working with local codes, ordinances and public agency standards related to land development design and related entitlement processes

* Experience coordinating project approvals with municipalities, monitoring reviews, addressing comments and permitting

* Candidates should process strong working relationships with developers, engineers, building architects, land planners, counties, municipalities, and other state and local agencies

Responsibilities

* Management of design development, preparation and/or administration of contract documents, cost estimates, development code research, agency correspondence, and client relations

* Work directly with clients, engineers, and building architects to develop site plans, manage design/entitlement processes, implement improvements, and lead production efforts

* Provide design, project, and task management leadership to various production teams

* Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures

* Inspect landscape project construction progress to ensure it adheres to plans

* Provide a positive and creative attitude in the office with co-workers and clients, and assist in mentoring

* Oversee and manage other landscape designers
